Washington-based SSC North America claims that their long-awaited supercar will break the 300mph barrier after it went into production sometime in 2019. That's the headline, but while we were trying to guess the odds of that happening after seeing the Tuatara for the first time in 2011, John Hennessey, the other American contender in this game hired the former head of GM's Performance Division. At 71 and coming out of a decade of retirement, John Heinricy will lead Hennessey's Venom F5 project.
